Week 5-data visualiation
some reflections about data visualization
What do D’Ignazio and Klein think about the concepts of ‘neutrality’ and ‘objectivity’ as they pertain to data visualisations? Summarise D’Ignazio and Klein’s chapter in one sentence. For Dignazio and klein's chapter:the neutrality is nowhere, you cannot find it yourself, but it is presence, the data visualization help to make such "nowhere" stuff become visualized and display. the objecvity can be reflected by numerical numbers, the quantification will help us to understand how this world works better.
Is Hickmon’s use of visualisations in her essay effective? Why or why not? Is there a visualisation that you particularly like? What about a visualisation that you particularly dislike? Why? effetive. because hickmon's data has combined with her content, which made it even more convincable. the full format is easy to read, and the chart is visualized, which made audience more easy to read and distinguish. The full data is convincable. The only one place may not dislike is the data chart's sample is too slow. maybe the authors need to add more information and data sources to make the visualization chart more scientific and more publicable.
